This book was the textbook used in a class I was enrolled in on microeconomics. Since it was only an introductory course, this book did a good job of covering a lot of the basic fundamentals that one needed to know before proceeding onto more advanced material. If all you are looking for is a rough guide to the subject without anything terribly in-depth, then this text work well for you. The sections that are touched on are covered extremely well and everything is explained with a lot of clarity. On the other hand, it is a rather frustrating read at times, as it breezes over some of the more interesting aspects of economics. It would have been helpful if the author had gone into more detail during certain sections, or at least had directed the reader to other publications where one could learn more.

Note to the buyer: Beware that the first six chapters in this book are identical to the first six chapters in PRINCIPLES OF MACROECONOMICS (note the 'A') written by the same author. And I am not exaggerating when I say they are identical -- even the practice problems are the same. If you are looking for some variety in introducing yourself to economics, you may want to use a different set of books.

To have this much repetition in books. May not be something you are interested in, so be careful before buying the second if you already own the first. Even one star is to good for this book.

This is the worst book I ever bought. I bought this book for my online Principals of Economics class. The author poorly explains every concept in this book. It is impossible to follow and understand him. He's all over the place.

The writing in this book is as psychotic as John Nash (of Game theory) himself. I had a solid 4.0 GPA from the other 9 classes I have taken up until I took this course. I will now be lucky if I come out of this class with a 'D' or a 1.0 grade. I am a nursing major, I am use to reading some really dry difficult technical textbooks and material but this is just plain crap.

I have never read a more poorly written textbook and some medical textbook writers can be pretty awful, nor have I ever been this frustrated taking a class. This takes the cake in awful bad. It is sooooo poorly written.

It has all these stupid little stories and examples which side tract the student from the concept and by the time you are done reading the stupid story, You have forgotten what the concept was. I don't know if I am coming going or been. This author was an advisor to a recent past president- no wonder our economy is as bad as it is. A really pee poor book. Look at the price of this thing!

A textbook that is out of touch with its students. As a teacher and tutor, I believe microeconomics should be taught with calculus. The examples and homework do not clearly illustrate the concepts that are needed. The book is dry, and does not captivate interest in students. I found that most of the assigned readings were not done due to how bored the students were by the context.
