I noticed that Monkeywrench Racing is allowing people to preorder the FC Datalogit software and cable (serial or US. I have the Power FC and FC Commander, which I bought from them. Questions: 1. I seem to remember something about the software being in Japanese.

Does the availability for sale in the US mean that it has been translated? What exactly can be examined and how (numbers, graphs)? What exactly can be modified and how? How much gain should one be able to obtain by using this software and is there programming (data that someone has already figured out by tuning) available. EDIT: I found some info.

Here's a link to the official web site in New Zealand. Shows screenshots of menus. It looks to me like this is not the Apexi software I heard about (in Japanese only), but rather software developed by this NZ company. Can you say 'reverse engineered'?

Co-pilot is a replacement for FC-Edit that used with the Datalogit interface for any Power Fc. It has quite a few features, such. Co-Pilot brings Auto tuning & Launch control to the Power FC! Do i need to download the datalogit software aswell as this? #5, 07:30 PM.

I don't know about the additional tuning possibilities (other than being much easier to do than using the FC Commander), but I like the data logging capability. It looks to me like it will record vehicle speed versus time and you could paste the numbers into Excel to give you a graph like you can get from a G-Tech. Don't quote me on that. I am curious about the cable and box that plugs into the Power FC (where the FC Commander usually goes). What type of interface is this?

It must be a serial port of some type. Is it RS-232? What does that little box do? IMO this is a must have upgrade to the PFC if you are thinking of tuning it yourself.Not sure if you've been asking MWR already, or what they know concerning it, but I spoke to the FC datalogit people myself quite a while back. The 1zz and 2zz version of the software is the same, i.e. Compatible with either. It sounds tempting, but I don't want to be the guinea pig and would also want either (a.) more impressive software or (b.) someone's data to download to it. Someone else having done the tuning for a car very similar to mine (CAI and cat-back exhaust) using a wideband O2 sensor. The software doesn't look like it will do a whole lot more for me. Of course, this beats the heck out of an FC Commander.

I'd be willing to try it out and review it, however. I wouldn't even charge a fee for my services.:wink. Compatible with either.[/b] Yes I confirm. I also talked a bit with glen and he confirmed that the 1ZZ and 2ZZ versions are about the same but the 2ZZ version has more features. Lift obviously and probably higher mapping ability. They are not exactly the same software. I am talking with MRW about some other matter concerning some maps.

You cannot have much more than what they supply.

There is so much logic in the Power FC hardware. This software gives you full control like the APEX software. You can exchange data with FC Edit.

Just need to find someone willing to give you the maps The most important feature I see with this software is the logging and the ability to change the base maps which cannot be done via the Commander. You can also log up to 4 additional inputs with it. Well, let me clarify 'more impressive software'.
