Nikko Dandy Dash Manual

NIKKO Dandy Dash - NIKKO's first (and only) competition grade hobby R/C car. This is not a toy! Just in time for the spring racing season (or display at meets)for auction is a vintage, brand new, never used or assembled, complete(including original box & all parts listed in the included manual) Nikko 4WD Dandy Dash Hobby grade 1/10 scale radio controlled car with Discovery IP II Radio (26.995MHz – Chanel 1 sticker), Receiver (26.995MHz – Chanel 1 sticker) and matched Servos. This was purchased to keep for spare parts for my son and my other two matching Nikko Dandy Dash competition RC cars since these are vintage from 1989 and made in Japan, finding parts is a challenge (though some were just listed on eBay recently). We never did much serious track racing, and since both or our cars are still in pretty good shape we are putting this up for auction to assist with our trip to Disney this summer. Note: The box was slightly damaged and the glue came off on one side ( see photos ), but otherwise it is in factory new shape having never been out of the box except for these photos.
One odd thing though is that the clear plastic body appears to have been partially cut out (but not too close to the actual cut lines) – it almost looks like it was roughed out, but it has never been painted or used. The file setup 1c bin. I try to show this in one of the photos, but taking pictures of clear unscratched plastic is hard, so be aware The remaining parts are still in sealed bags (except the antenna straw), including the oil for the oil filled suspension – which of course is good since this is 22 years old and the shocks would be shot if the oil had already been put into them.

Nikko dandy dash sprint. Hobby grade RC systems have modular designs. Many boats, aircraft and cars can accept equipment from different manufacturers, so it is possible to take RC equipment from a car and install it into a boat, for example.
The overall construction is great, including metal drive shafts for all four drive wheels, Bridgestone brand “power tooth belt” for the drive train, metal tie rods, oil filled dampers, double wishbone (front) & “Twin Wishbone” (rear) suspension, 3 (front) & 4 (back) pinion differential gears, etc. This is a very high quality build, and from the other two we still run, these are very powerful, they grip the track (or backyard/street), and take both corners and abuse very well! If you are a collector, this will look great in your display case or at shows, if you are a racer, this will do great at the track as a great retro car as well as awfully fast and tight in flight and on the curves!
Here’s the detail on what came from the factory (and is included in the auction): The Car Itself (see photos) – factory pre-assembled except for decorations, radio & servo installation, oil added to dampers, body – all included and listed below. Note: the car requires a 7.2V Power Racing Pack battery & charger – not included. Digital proportional radio control system with BEC (battery elimination circuit) – Discovery IP II competition radio control transmitter 500mW, matched receiver, (2) crystals for channel 1 - 26.995MHz, (2) matched high torque servos. Note: the transmitter requires 8 AA batteries – not included. Plastic decoration parts – SP 101, K 1027 (little driver guy w/ head/helmet) Stickers for Dandy Dash – K 1003 Clear (unpainted) plastic body – K 1001 (partly “roughed out” but completely intact and usable) (Note: if you wanted to rough yours out personally or have multiple shells to paint for different drivers, etc.
